With its cellular network Mepill is a unique device that detects when a pill is extracted in real-time. It is designed as a sustainable option for smart packaging with no single-use electronics, safe data handling and the option to integrate to other IT systems thanks to Mevias APIs. Studies show that 97-99% of pills are consumed when taken out of a package.
The original pharmaceutical blister is integrated with Mevias package through the customisation of conductive traces that are designed so each pill breaks a conductive trace when taken. Mepill can easily monitor 28 pills, across one or several blisters of most sizes and shapes. The package can be designed to include both child-safety and tamper evidence features. Mepill is connected to the package by opening the lid, positioning the package and then, closing the lid.
Mepill has been designed together with patients in order to make it easy to use and handle. When connected Mepill detects when a trace is broken to know when a pill is taken. Through Mepills integrated roaming SIM card and cellular network, data is transferred in real-time wherever Mepill is in the world. Mepill gives its user feedback through a check button and a LED light on the device, but the user can also stay updated on Mepill’s status in Mevia’s app and through customised text messages.
With its cellular network Medose is a unique device that detects when a dose with multiple pills is extracted in real-time. It is designed as a sustainable option for smart packaging with no single-use electronics, safe data handling and the option to integrate to other IT systems thanks to Mevias APIs. Studies show that 97-99% of pills are consumed when taken out of a package.
The cavities of the dose packages are filled in automated machines by the pharmacy or CMO (Contract manufacturing organisation) or filled manually. Medose can be adapted to numerous dosing regimes and comfortably measures 28 doses. The package is connected to Medose by being gently pushed into Medose connectors and fastened by retaining clips being put in a closed position by rotation.
Medose has been designed together with patients and pharmacies in order to make it easy to use and handle. When connected Medose detects when a trace is broken to know when a dose is taken. Through Medose integrated roaming SIM card and cellular network, data is transferred in real-time wherever Medose is in the world. Medose gives its user feedback through an e-ink display and a LED light on the device, but the user can also stay updated on Medose's status in Mevia’s app and through customised text messages.
